For the past two days I have been sketching my painting. I really wanted to get the legs right because I knew that I would get really confused if I immediately started painting. I simplified the composition of my painting so that it wouldn't get too busy, and even took some of my own photos to get more inspiration. Since my last painting was really small, I decided to paint on a much bigger canvas this time. To really make sure that the feet look like they are moving, I plan to make the moving feet fainter in color and less definite. That being said, I started to paint the still legs since they will need more detail and attention. At first, I had a little trouble sketching the legs because I was making them too wide. But after adding some curves, they look much better now. For the tights, I used a light peachy/skin-toned color from mixing yellow, white, and red. I made the color gradually get lighter as I painted left, to make the leg look more 3D. I do think that the transition needs to be a little bit more evident.
